About va.golf
Built by golfers.
For Virginia golfers.
Our Story
"We were tired of calling six different courses on a Saturday morning just to find an open tee time."
va.golf started in 2022 as a weekend side project between two friends — a web developer and a scratch golfer — who were both frustrated that Virginia had no good place to discover courses, check conditions, and actually book a tee time without jumping through hoops.
We're a small team based out of Harrisonburg. We play here. Our families play here. We care about Virginia golf in a way that a national booking platform never will.
Today, va.golf lists over 400 courses, serves 15,000+ golfers, and runs the largest directory of Virginia golf events. We're still small, still independent, and still building things we personally wish existed.
Some of our favourite courses across the Valley.

Matt Callahan
Co-founder · Design & Product
Former UX designer turned golf obsessive. Matt built the first version of va.golf on his kitchen table during a rainy weekend in November 2022. Favourite course: Bryce Resort. Weakness: bunkers.
Jordan Price
Co-founder · Engineering
Full-stack developer who learned to golf specifically to beta test va.golf. Jordan keeps the lights on and the tee time data fresh. Favourite hole: the par-3 8th at Lakeview. Still working on the short game.
Maybe you?
We're a tiny team with big ambitions. If you love Virginia golf and want to help build something useful, we'd love to hear from you.
Say hello →We're golfers first
Every feature we build starts with a real problem we've personally felt on the course. If it doesn't help us play more or play better, we don't ship it.
Virginia, not everywhere
We're not trying to be the next GolfNow. We care deeply about one state and its golf community — the courses, the people, the local events. That focus is a feature, not a limitation.
No fluff, no ads, no nonsense
We're independent and intend to stay that way. va.golf doesn't sell your data, doesn't run banner ads, and doesn't bury the tee time button behind a newsletter signup.
Built in public
We share what we're working on, what's broken, and what's next. If something on the site frustrates you, we want to know. Hit us up — we actually reply.
Got a question?
We're easy to reach. Whether it's a course listing that needs updating, a bug you found, or just a good golf story — drop us a line. There's no support ticket system here. Just two people and an inbox.
We're also occasionally on the course at Lakeview on weekends. Say hi.
